"Karez" means "an underground water channel" in the local language.
It is a "flow of life" that springs from the Hindu Kush mountains cutting across Afghanistan, quietly yet steadily nourishing the dry land. At the same time, the word symbolizes "the waterway of life," "a source of healing," and "dreams for the future."
Each individual’s effort is as small as a drop of water. However, when these intentions come together, they eventually become a great river that nourishes the land.
Based on this belief,
we at the Karez Association aspire to be a "waterway of hope" for the people of Afghanistan suffering from the ravages of war. Through the two pillars of "healthcare" and "education," we support lives on the brink and nurture a flow that continues toward the future.

The symbol of the Karez Association embodies our wishes and mission.
An open book represents "education," and the medicine cup and ambulance represent "healthcare." The ink depicted in the book signifies the spread of knowledge, the medicine cup represents the power to save lives, and the ambulance symbolizes unwavering action even in the most challenging areas.
These two pillars, healthcare and education, come together, and the Karez Association continues to bring hope to the land of Afghanistan as a "waterway of life."
Small acts of support eventually become a great flow that nourishes the future. This logo quietly yet powerfully embodies that belief of ours.
